Hopkins Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2010 Jeep Wrangler- Video

Today, on our 2010 Jeep Wrangler, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles.Now the purpose of the wiring is to transfer the lighting signals from the back of your motor home to the back of your Jeep. That's not only going to keep you legal, but it's going to allow other motorists to know what your intentions are as you go down the road. Now one thing I like about this kit is that it's going to have built in diodes, which are going to protect your Jeep's factory wiring if a short or an electrical issue we're to occur on your motor home side.Now the wiring is going to come pre-attached at the front end with a four pole flat connector. Now what I recommend doing, like we did on our Jeep, is actually upgrading to a six way round connector like we have here. And that's just going to give you a little more options to run other accessories like a charge line kit for example. more

Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Hey everybody. Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster seven wire to six wire Flexo-Coil wiring kit. Now, if you do want to flat tow your Jeep behind your motor home, so that way we can get to the campsite and, go out to eat, maybe run an errand without having to take our motor home. But the problem comes in, we have to have those signals just like when you're towing a trailer so we can safely get down the road and make sure everybody around us knows what's going on, and the advantage of our diodes is that it is going to allow us to get those signals to the back of our tail lights, and it's going to use our factory tail lights and bulbs, so we're not going to have to worry about an extra bulb inside of our lens or using magnetic lights.Magnetic lights do work, but we're going to have to find somewhere to put them on our Jeep, run the wire up to the back of our motor home. And then while we're driving down the road that wire bouncing up and down, rubbing against the paint could eventually scratch it. And our diodes, as you can see, they're not going to change any kind of outward appearance of our Jeep. more

It's going to be one of five main components on a flat tow setup. The other four are going to be your base plate, your tow bar, your safety cables, and your braking system. Our diode kit is designed to do is allow our towed vehicle to receive light functions from our RV so that we're legal and we're safe while we're driving down the road.We're going to have a plug that mounts on the front of the towed vehicle, we'll have wiring that runs through the back of the vehicle behind each taillight, where we connect our diodes. There are five main components you'll need to flat tow your Jeep behind your motor home. You'll need your tow bar and this provides the connection between your motor home and your vehicle, your safety cables which is a supplemental connection between your motor home and your vehicle, your base plate which is the connection point on your vehicle to attach your tow bar to, your supplemental braking system which allows the brakes that exist on your vehicle to help assist at stopping when you stop in your motor home, and your diode wiring, or supplemental wiring such as magnetic lights, which takes all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfers it to those at the back of the vehicle so people around you know your intentions when going down the road. For our tow bar, we're using Roadmaster's Nighthawk tow bar, and this is really the cream of the crop of tow bars.This is definitely one of the nicest ones out there. It's a non-binding tow bar, which I would recommend regardless of what tow bar you choose, to make sure you get one that is non-binding. more

Hi there, Cherokee owners. Today on our 2018 Jeep Cherokee, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins Plug and Play Diode Wiring Harness. This Diode wiring harness is going to take all of the lighting signals from your motor home and transfer them back to the lights here on the back of your vehicle. The diode wiring makes sure that those signals that are coming back to your lights only illuminate the lights and do not back feed into your vehicle, which protects it from any damage that could potentially occur.What I really like about this harness versus other kits out there that has diodes that you can install to get the same effect is this kit is custom designed for your Cherokee, so it's nice and plug and play. You remove your taillight assemblies, you plug them in, you just route the wire up to the front and you're ready to go. A lot of those other ones, you have to cut the wiring in your vehicle, which could potentially void warranties depending on the age of your vehicle. more

Diodes are going to connect to your factory wiring behind your taillights and it's going to protect your factory wiring not only on your Jeep Commander, but also on your RV for any back feed going either way if there's a wiring issue.Now, keep in mind, these diode kits are not vehicle specific. Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit Installation - 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today, this 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we're going to review and install the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles, Part number HM56207.This will provide all the signals you need. Turn signals, left and right, your running light circuit and your brake lights.You can use a bulb and socket in some vehicles, however, when you use a wiring system like this, you don't have to worry about drilling a hole in the back of your tail light and worrying about sealing up and getting moisture inside tail light when you're done installing it.Before we get ready to install, we'll cover the parts and which direction all the wires go. Pretty easy. The T-connector to yellow wire goes to the driver's side and the T-connection with the green wire goes over to your passenger side. Of course, the 4-pole wiring harness is going to go up towards the front of the vehicle.The kit also comes with a holder for a 4-pole flat, if you're going to stay with that, some zip ties to hold the wires, some screws for the bracket and some dielectric grease to protect your electrical connections and also a cap for a 4-pole.To start off our install, we remove both our tail lights. Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Today on our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee we're going to be installing Roadmaster's diode wiring kit, part number RM-15267. Our diode wiring kit runs from the rear tail lamp assemblies up to our six pole connector here. And here you can see in our motor home we have our left turn signal on, and here you can see when we activate the lights in our motor home it also matches on our Jeep.We've got everything else that we'll need to get our flat tow for our vehicle behind our motor home set up. We've got our tow bars, which is the connection point between your baseplate and your motor home's hitch, we have our breaking system, we have our wiring, which gives us all of our stop, turn, and tail lamp signals from our motor home to our vehicle. And to be able to connect our tow bar to our base plate we're using Roadmaster's quick disconnect kit.Your baseplate is going to be your interface that allows a connection to your motor home. This is where your tow bars will attach. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Jeep Wrangler JL Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Demco tail light wiring kit, part number DM9523010. Whenever we're flat-towing our Jeep down the road, it's very important that our light signals match up from the motorhome and the Jeep. That way if we're slowing down or changing lanes, everybody around us knows what's going on, and we can all be safe.Our diode kit is going to take that signal from our motorhome, and transfer it to our jeep, so that they blink and turn on at the same time. The really nice thing about our diodes is that it's not going to change the outward appearance of our Jeep at all, and the fact that once we have it installed, they're not going to have any maintenance. Unlike some of the magnetic lights that we'd have to hook up, run our wire every time we want to tow, we can simply have these already in and we just have the connection cord between our motorhome and Jeep to hook up.Our diodes are also going to make sure that it protects our vehicles wiring. We don't have to worry about any short-circuits or anything that may arise on the motorhome end, because our diodes are only going to let power go through one way. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2016 Jeep Wrangler, we're gonna be taking a look at, I'm gonna show you how to install the Roadmaster Universal High Powered Diode Wiring Kit, part number RM-154.This is what our diode kit's gonna look like when it's installed. It's gonna be one of five main components on a flat tow setup, this is gonna give us our proper lighting functions at the back of our vehicle to safely flat two the vehicle.This is what our diode kit looks like when we get it. We're gonna have our diodes, we're gonna have our 30 foot of wire that's gonna go from the front of our Jeep to the back, we're gonna have our tether that's gonna go from the front of our Jeep to the back of our RV, we're gonna have some zip ties to help hold up our wiring when we run it to the back of the vehicle, and we're gonna have some wire loom to give our wiring a nice finished look.Our diodes, what these are for is these are gonna help protect our factory wiring from any back feed from our RV, if there's a wiring issue and vice versa. You're also gonna have some butt connectors. Now for this particular kit, you can see we had two 4 pole ends.
